APPLE VISION PRO-WARNING

APPLE VISION PRO-WARNING 1 thumbnailAPPLE VISION PRO-WARNING 2 thumbnail
WARNING!
There are a couple posts on Craiglist (both from the same person) offering an Apple Vision Pro Virtual Reality headset for sale. Both ads have the same picture of a Vision Pro on a stand. One ad has a selling price of $1500. The other ad has the same unit for $1100. One post is from Lincoln, Nebraska. The other post is from Las Angeles. Both show the exact same picture of the item.

In communicating via email with the seller, he claims that his girlfriend gave him the Vision Pro as a gift and she bought it new for $3500. He said that he doesn’t’ like it and wants to sell it.

First of all, there are, in my opinion, several red warning signs that should arouse suspicion as to the validity of this offer:

He’s selling the unit at significantly lower than it’s current market value (less than half) which, to me, makes his offer, highly questionable.
He will only consummate a sale by having the buyer send him the money for the unit after which he says he will then ship the unit to the buyer.
He will not make himself available in person so someone can inspect the unit (most likely because he doesn’t have it).
He will not allow a buyer to meet him in person to pay for the unit (most likely because he doesn’t have it). He will only ship the item after he receives your money.
He will not take additional pictures of the unit and send them to a potential buyer (most likely because he doesn’t have it).
He will not give his address as he says he’s “on the road” a lot.
He has the same unit advertised in two different postings and, when questioned about it, said that he has only one unit for sale.

While I do not wish to slander this person by labeling him as a “scammer”, I would advise anyone looking at this item to use their best judgement and to proceed with extreme caution before sending the seller money.
