When I rescued this guitar, it was near death. It had no bridge or saddle, no nut, no strap buttons, no strings, no tone control, broken tuning gears and a broken 3 way switch. The last 3 photos show the before images for comparison. I set about first getting new pieces of gear for it, which included: bridge, saddle, new electronic harness with new pots and 3 way switch, new nut, new truss rod cover, and new tuning gears. Then I polished the guitar using a 3 step program from Stew Mac. Once I knew it was going to work, I then set about doing a complete set up which included: truss rod adjustment, fret redressing, smoothing of fret ends, string height adjustment, and intonation adjustment so that it plays in tune. It is set up for easy playing for a beginner. And what a Great Christmas gift, and without spending much more in a music store to get the same beginner's set up.
